Citi 'Tips for Grads' financial tip sheet

Develop a visually engaging “financial tip sheet” for the Life and Money site to help young adults prepare for their independent financial future. I was tasked with creating a one-sheet demonstrating Citi’s commitment to financial inclusion, and complement the Citi Start Savings program, which helps low and moderate-income families save for college.

The audience being Young adults, specifically high school students who are preparing for college. There is a large gap when it comes to financial education for teens.

87% of teenagers in the US admit not understanding their finances and 79% don’t have a
savings account. (Forbes, 2022)

29% of Gen Z say they either don’t have a credit score or don’t know if they have one
(Business Insider, 2023)

Teens’ top concerns about pursuing higher education are costs (49%) and taking student
loans (43%). (CNBC 2022)

Social media has made financial advice more accessible for young adults. But, when anyone can post anything without consequence, you run the risk of following inaccurate advice from uncredible sources (28% of Millennials/Gen Z have lost money from it).

That’s where Citi comes in.
